How to Replace the Ozone Plates on New Comfort Air Purifiers

In this video, we go over replacing the Ozone Plates on any model of New Comfort Air Purifiers.

Important Safety Tips

  • Always make sure your machine is unplugged and the power button is turned off, before servicing your vacuum.
  • Always make sure your hands are dry and free from moisture before servicing your machine.
  • Be sure to wear gloves when servicing your machine to prevent any cuts or scrapes.
  • If you are uncomfortable working on your machine, please don’t hesitate to contact us at service@greatvacs.com and we can help you through the process or you can send it into us to fix it for you.

CA3500

The first air purifier we are going to go over is the CA3500. This is a 6 stage filtration purifier with a clear, acrylic case. If you haven’t done so already, remove your ozone plates from their packaging.

On the back side of the air purifier you’re going to find a cover. Go ahead and remove that.

Next is the HEPA filter, so remove that as well.

Then remove the charcoal filter.

Finally, remove the metal mesh filter.

Now the inside of the air purifier is exposed, so you will be able to see two slots where the ozone plates go. Each slot gets one ozone plate.

The ozone plates have arrows to indicate which direction they need to be inserted.

Line up the ozone plates and slide them in.

Once both are in place you can replace the filters. Start with the metal mesh, then the charcoal, then the HEPA, and ending with the back cover.

03/1000

The second air purifier we’re showing is the cherry-finished 03/1000. This is easier in regards to installing or replacing ozone plates.

Simply turn the machine around and you’ll see two slots.

Just slide the ozone plates in! Easy!

Commercial

The next air purifier is the Commercial air purifier.

This one is just like the 03/1000 – just turn the machine around and you’ll see slots for the ozone plates. The only difference is that there are 3 ozone plates instead of 2.

Go ahead and insert the plates, remembering that the arrows indicate the direction they need to go.

SS7000

The last air purifier we will be demonstrating is the SS7000. This method will also work for the HE-500, HE-500 Stainless, and the H2O-5000.

For these air purifiers the ozone plate will look a little different. There will be a single plate with two prongs at the bottom. Your model may require one or two, so please refer to your owner’s manual.

Depending on the model, you will have 2 or 4 screws holding the top cover on. Remove those and take the cover off.

This model requires two ozone plates, but we will only be doing one. If you open your air purifier and notice that a plate is broken you may need a flat  head screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers to help you remove it.

This one isn’t broken, so all you need to do is lift up on the black tabs and slide the ozone plate out.

The insert he new ozone plate, line up the prongs in the connectors, lift up on the two black tabs, and it will snap into place.

Once the ozone plate(s) are in place you can replace the top cover. That's it! You're done!

Instructions

You will need to take off the top portion of your Prolux CV12000 vacuum. There are two clamps, one on each side, that needs unlatched. Watch your fingers to make sure they don’t get pinched or crushed!

Once it’s unclamped, take the top portion off. You won’t need the dust bin, so you can set it to the side.

Lay the vacuum down so you have access to the filters.

The first filter is a micron cloth filter. To remove it, just grab the tab and pull up and out.

The second filters is a HEPA filter. To remove it, just untwist the black part in the middle.

Then pull the filter out.

Now that the filters are removed you can clean them. To clean the micron cloth filter you can shake it out, use an air compressor, or use a vacuum to get the dirt out.

The HEPA filter is the only filter on the Prolux CV12000 central vacuum that is washable. You can also use an air compressor or vacuum to get the dirt out.

Once they’re both clean you can reinstall them.

Start with the HEPA filter. Insert the filter and line it up with the screw going through the hole. Then take the black piece and twist it back on. It should be pretty tight.

The micron cloth filter can be a little tricky to put back in. The easiest way is to bend the metal band in half and line the curve up in the groove.

Then slowly release the band while guiding it into the groove. Take great care to keep your fingers away, since it will quickly and suddenly snap back into place!
