How To Buy A Vacuum Made In The USA
Oftentimes, people in their 30s start to look back at how many vacuum cleaners they’ve owned in the last 10 years and then they start to think about all the money they’ve thrown away. When this happens, we get emails looking for guidance on how to buy a high-quality vacuum that will last for many years. This is what we specialize in – vacuums that last decades instead of just a few years!
Here’s a picture of what our trade-in room used to look like. These are all vacuums that customers had traded in! Looking through the pictures you’ll notice that there are hundreds and, unfortunately, most of these end up in landfills. They are made in China for $20-30 and are designed to be disposable. It’s great for the vacuum manufacturers, but not great for the consumer!
Every 2-3 years you’re spending more money to get a vacuum that doesn’t work that well. If you were to invest in a good, high-end, American-made vacuum, you could expect them to last 20-30 years and they have the added bonus of cleaning better. This translates to huge savings and an improved cleaning experience!
We actually contacted many of the manufacturers about recycling these old vacuums, but it costs them less to just make new ones in China and ship them over. It is a "good" business model, but not one we believe in.
If you've gone looking for a high-end vacuum you may have noticed that they’re more expensive than the ones you find in big box stores. To help this cost, we actually buy used vacuums, rebuild them, and then sell them with our own 5-year warranty! This way you can get a high-end vacuum without paying an arm and a leg! Here you can see a bunch of the brands we sell.
