How To Connect Rainbow Vacuum Tools Button Lock VS. Friction Fit
We get asked about the different ways that vacuum attachments attach quite often. There are two main ways that they work – friction fit and button lock. In this video, Dustin goes over the differences and how they attach!
Important Safety Tips
- Always make sure your machine is unplugged and the power button is turned off, before servicing your vacuum.
- Always make sure your hands are dry and free from moisture before servicing your machine.
- Be sure to wear gloves when servicing your machine to prevent any cuts or scrapes.
- If you are uncomfortable working on your vacuum, please don’t hesitate to contact us at service@greatvacs.com and we can help you through the process or you can send it into us to fix it for you.
Instructions
Most canister vacuums use both types of connection. They’ll use the button lock, like shown above, for the main wand. The same vacuum will use friction fit for the attachments.
Here’s a standard hose that has the button lock.
And here is the wand. You can see it has a little hole for the button lock.
When you shove the two together, the button lock will click into place, locking the wand onto the hose.
This hose was also designed to work with friction fit attachments. Starting at an angle insert the hose into the tool. You will notice that the end of the tool goes over the button. Now twist the tool to straighten and provide the needed friction. To get the tool off, you simply untwist!
Some tools will not cover the button lock and this is okay! As long as the tool is snuggly fitted onto the hose it won’t come off while you’re vacuuming.
Floor tools require use of the wand, so connect the wand first.
Now attach the floor tool using friction fit. You’re ready to get cleaning!
