Professionally Reconditioned—not Simply Used

GreatVacs reconditioned vacuums are pre-owned Kirby and Rainbow machines that have been professionally inspected, cleaned, serviced, rebuilt and tested before being offered for sale. These are not machines that are simply wiped down and placed back in a box.

Our technicians evaluate the vacuum’s mechanical and electrical systems, address applicable wear components and test its cleaning performance. Our goal is to provide the power and dependability customers expect from a premium vacuum without the cost of purchasing a brand-new system.

Because these vacuums are pre-owned, minor cosmetic signs of previous use may remain. Cosmetic condition, included accessories and warranty coverage can vary by listing, so please review the individual product page before ordering.

Our Reconditioning Process

Here is what happens before a GreatVacs reconditioned vacuum is approved for sale.

Complete Inspection and Evaluation

Every vacuum is carefully examined by our experienced technicians before rebuilding begins. We inspect the motor, bearings, seals, electrical connections, brush roll, belt system, wheels, transmission or power-drive system, hose connections and other moving components. This helps us identify worn, damaged or unreliable parts before the vacuum is approved for reconditioning.

Disassembled, Deep Cleaned and Rebuilt

The vacuum is opened and thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Dirt, residue, hair and buildup from previous use are removed. Applicable wear components—including bearings, seals, belts, brush rolls, motor components and other service parts—are replaced when required. Cosmetic surfaces are also cleaned and prepared so the machine arrives in the best condition reasonably possible for a professionally reconditioned vacuum.

Performance and Safety Testing

After servicing, the vacuum is reassembled and tested for suction, airflow, motor performance, brush-roll operation, electrical function and normal movement. Self-propelled systems and power nozzles are tested where applicable. If the vacuum does not perform correctly, it is returned to the service bench before being approved for sale.

Final Quality Check and Secure Packaging

Before shipment, we perform a final quality review and confirm the model, package and included accessories. The vacuum is then packed with the attachments, tools, bags, belts and supplies listed on its product page. Because package contents vary, please review the individual listing to confirm exactly what is included.

What You Should Expect

Mechanical Condition

Your vacuum is inspected, serviced and tested for proper operation. Applicable wear components are addressed when required. A reconditioned machine should deliver dependable cleaning performance, even though it is not sold as factory-new.

Cosmetic Condition

Since the vacuum is pre-owned, minor scratches, marks or other cosmetic signs of previous use may remain. These do not normally affect cleaning performance. Review the individual listing for any product-specific condition information.
