Every mechanical appliance has issues that can be easily fixed by simple troubleshooting. The Rainbow vacuum is no exception. It has been around since 1929 and although it’s design has been updated incredibly well; there are still a few issues that can pop up. Here are a few of the most common issues that can be fixed quickly.

Vacuum sounds like it will power off: If your vacuum turns on and runs properly, but begins to make a noise as if it is powering off, you may need to replace the brushes. With a considerable amount of use and no maintenance, parts can become worn. Take the Rainbow for a maintenance check very soon to prevent any motor damage.

Vacuum smells bad: First try cleaning all of the containing components in the unit. If the odor does not go away, you probably need to change out the Hepa filter. In addition to the odor, your Rainbow will lose cleaning power until the filter is updated.

Aquamate Shampooer will not pump out soap: If you have a brand new shampooer you may need to let it sit in water for a few hours before use. You can let it run for 10 minutes at a time to spray water and try again for the soap to pump out. Also be sure that the soap has been loaded correctly.
