Many people choose to own a Rainbow vacuum because they are known to be high quality and to have incredible life spans with great cleaning efficiency. But, similar to other high quality items, the vacuum must be maintained to work well.
The maintenance steps are actually quite simple and easy. The water holding tool on the vacuum can get very dusty and hold dirt. By removing the straps and the bowl, you will be able to see any dirt that needs to be cleaned.
You can use a damp sponge to wipe away dirt and grime from this area easily. But, if you have not cleaned this area in many months or years, a sponge may not do the trick. A small brush, such as an old toothbrush can be used with warm water and baking soda to brush off caked on soil. This process should be done at least every three months.
There is also a fan that is called the separator fan. The efficiency of the vacuum can be greatly reduced when the fan is not clean. Each vacuum comes with a cleaning brush that can be used to brush off this fan. You can also use the damp sponge to remove anything that the brush did not.
Both of these cleaning processes can easily be done outside on a porch, where the dirt can later be swept away with a broom. Or, if you don’t have a porch or it is winter time, this can easily be done in a bathtub or on a tile area.
Additional tips include taking account of any loose screws or bolts that may need replaced when putting the vacuum together. Also, noting any changes in performance that may have been created by the simple cleaning and maintenance tasks you performed on your vacuum. You will be able to tell when the vacuum becomes less efficient and needs to be cleaned again.
