Central Vacuums

Central Vacuums Power Nozzles & Accessories Installation Parts

Central Vacuum Cleaners are the most powerful vacuum made. They can be very convenient and have a much longer life cycle than the standard vacuum. Here at Great Vacs we don’t provide installation but we sell High End Central Vacuum and Installation Parts. When choosing a Central Vacuum consider these tips:

1. House Size. Get a Central Vacuum big enough to handle your home. When you look at our central vacuums you will see a square foot rating on each vacuum. It’s always better to go a little over than under. When doing in home demonstrations of vacuum cleaners we actually found that most central vacuum cleaners had less power than your standard vacuum even though at the main unit it had way more. Why is that? It’s a fact that the longer the hose of a vacuum cleaner the less power it will have. Some installers will put the central vacuum clear on one side of the house (usually the garage) and use lots of piping that don’t make sense. Sometimes you will have 150 feet of tubing and hose before it gets to the vacuum head. So be sure to get a big enough Central Vacuum Cleaner for your home.

2. Consider Filtration. Do you have allergies? There are several models to pick from that have HEPA filtration to help with allergies.

Power Nozzles & Accessories

Power Nozzle and Hose. Spend some good money on a Power Nozzle. The nice thing about Central Vacuums is you have a choice on the type of Power Nozzle you may want to use. The Central Vacuum Cleaner itself uses a by pass system where the dirt and debris will not go through a fan chamber but drop directly into the dirt chamber. This is why a Central Vacuum Cleaner will last a lot longer than a standard vacuum. If you maintain it they will last a long time and be a great investment for your home. The Vacuum Power Nozzle though will still take the same amount of abuse. The better your Vacuum Power Nozzle the better it will pick up and vacuum with as well. We carry several high end Vacuum Power Nozzles that are very popular with our customers.

At our warehouse we use a Eureka central vacuum cleaner that each of our repair techs use when rebuilding or repairing a vacuum cleaner. One of the first things they do is vacuum out the old bag. DON’T DO THIS AT HOME but we have vacuumed up dirt, rocks, nails, screws, plastic and metal. We run our Central Vacuum Cleaner full time 2 hours a day on average and have been doing that for 5 years and it’s still going strong.

Installation Parts

Upgrades. We sell several Installation parts and upgrades that will make your life easier when it comes to cleaning. For example in the room you do a lot of sweeping consider a sweep duct where you wont have to use a dust pan but sweep it into the central vacuum line.
